New pegboard day. I needed more table space and realized I just had too many things on my table. I've pretty much cleared all my table space. Not sure why I waited so long to install one. I use a huge one in my garage and I only really needed a small one in this room.

I think the time has finally come to buy a desoldering station. I don't want to spend an arm and leg but I also don't want to waste money on a piece of sh!t.

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

I built a tube spring reverb a couple of years ago and built it with a long decay 3 spring Mod tank. I recently ordered a 2 spring Accusonics tank that sounds quite a bit different. I was thinking it would be cool to have both tanks stacked (mechanically, not musically) and have a switch to go back and forth.

Any issues with this?

So I have had this 2013 version board sitting around for a while and finally want to build it. I noticed that the design was updated in 2015.

I reviewed the change log and didn't see anything that really matters much to me besides the modification of the slow speed R55 being changed from a 22k to a 1M. Is this mod possible with the 2013 board?

And all this being said, is the 2013 version board still worth being built? I don't want to spend time building this older version if the new version is a better in any way other than size.

So as some of you know, I recently lost my dog of 12 years and was totally crushed. I wasn't sure if I could get another but realized quickly I couldn't be without.

Well, a couple of weeks ago I decided to rescue another dog from the shelter

Meet Daisy! She's a sweetheart and approximately 2 years/65 lbs. She's brought a ton of joy to the family and her energy is thriving!

I just did a DNA test on her and should have the results on her breeds in 6 or so weeks

Any guesses?

On Wednesday I had to put my dog down. I had been with her almost 12 years which is longer than I had been with my wife and older than my son.

Make sure and give your dog a little extra love today because they can go quick. She went from what seemed to be a healthy dog on Thursday, to barely knowing who I was by Monday.

My heart has been crushed and our home just doesn't feel like home now.

New Oscilloscope Day!

After building one of those small scope kits, I have really been wanting a bigger/better scope. Not sure how much use it will get but there are definitely some things I really need to calibrate and its tough to do without a proper scope.

I know Jason recently got one of these and seemed happy with it. I also believe I have seen Alan with one as well. Seems to be the gold standard for a hobby scope.

Many years ago, I asked this question and I am not sure if I got any response or if the thread got lost after that last server crash. I thought I would ask again cause I hate screwing up a tight build that could have been avoided had I done some modeling upfront to check for clearances.

I am looking for jacks, 3PDT, pots, switches, and anything else that could be helpful. Standard enclosures would be awesome as well.

Native SolidWorks format would be ideal but I will take pretty much any generic 3D format.

If all else fails, I will model them up myself, just trying to save some time.

Having already built the AquaBoy Deluxe and the Total Recall (Both Fabulous BTW), I was curious if there have been anymore interesting DIY delays come out since the release of the Xvive chips?

I have a couple of extra chips that I would like to put to use if there's anything interesting out there.

So I have one of these hex enclosures laying around and stumbled upon this. I like the idea of the 1/8" patch cables to keep everything clean/small on top. I have typical rackmount patchbays but they are not as portable and convenient of something like this. 

I think I will build it, mainly for synth stuff but may use it for my guitar stuff as well. I think I would add a switch to disable the output for when you are patching to avoid typical pops and noise. 

In this day and age, when you place an order for components (or anything really), when do you expect that order should be shipped out by?

Mouser - same day, BLMS - same day, smallbear -within a day or two, Ebay - within a day or two.....

What's reasonable to you?

Just finished mine up and wanted to make sure before I started drilling. The build doc says to use a tall one but some of the pics on here look like a regular one.

If not, what is the best size for it?

Anyone know of a place in the US that sells the right photocells (Miniature 20K light/20M Dark) for the Doubel Ganger? I haven't used photocells before so I am ignorant when it comes to selecting these.

The Doc BOM has a Futurlec link (PHOTOCELL2A) https://www.futurlec.com/Photocells.shtml but I'd rather not order from there if possible. 

Smallbear, Mouser, Ebay, anywhere that has shipping that I can receive it in a week or two would be fine.
