Is there something wrong with a Nato neck?

I am unfamiliar with that wood. Are they not stable?

Open Discussion / Re: New Gear Thread

"New" gear for me, means picking up a vintage, cheap, possibly (usually) broken, amp on eBay. Guitars too.

This is my latest find. It's a Unicord Power Plus 2 X 12 with horn.
Came with "issues"... all fixed now and sounds pretty good for a germanium solid state amp from the 70's.
Pretty rare judging by how little info is out there. I think they only made these for a couple of years.
Rare does NOT = valuable, but I don't really care about that.

It takes pedals REAL well.  :)  and has a true optical Vibrato circuit.
The pitch warbling sound is most noticeable on low notes and since
I've never played this type of vibrato before, I'm still not sure I like it as compared to a normal Tremolo.
Maybe it'll grow on me.

General Questions / Re: Capacitors for power filtering
February 28, 2016, 08:24:55 PM
With a resistor the cap forms a low pass filter to remove (potential) high(er) frequency noise from the power source.
Using a LP filter calculator we can determine the -3db cutoff frequency of the filter.

http://www.learningaboutelectronics.com/Articles/Low-pass-filter-calculator.php

Just subbing the 47uF cap and not changing the resistor will raise the cutoff frequency.
Playing around with the calculator shows that raising the resistance value lowers the cutoff frequency.

Neato man. What's the ISP knob do?
You can change the voice of the amp basically. Any where from a Europen Vox type sound to an American type sound. It's all heavier sounding though. It really has a very warm heavy sound all around.

Yep, I find my Club 40 clean channel has huge bass response even with the tone control on max treble.

I made the mistake of saying that to my fellow band mates and now we are changing our band name to..... wait for it....

Max Treble!  :o  ;)  ;D

I bought one of those Club 40 and I agree, kick a$$ amp.
I liked it so much I got the Soloist 60 to gig with.
The Club 40 I use at home.

Yep, you have it right. The black piece slips over the LED leads and holds the LED in the bezel.
The wires are soldered onto the LED leads.
They do hang out in the breeze, but the solder join and bare wire should be covered with heat shrink tube.

Google search "LED resistor calculator" and find one you like.
There are lots out there.  ;)

Here's one I found... http://led.linear1.org/1led.wiz
