FWIW, I've had best results with LM386-3.

put a 100k resistor in parallel with the LDR and see if that helps. I had to do that on a PT2399 implementation of the modulation circuit used on an Aqua puss

I know this is a very old thread, but I figured I'd try anyway...
How would I add this resistor in parallel? I'm stumped! Anyway, if anyone can explain it to me, I'd be grateful. Thanks in advance.

This is so awesome!

This is such a sweet pedal! Everything about it is beautiful.

Thanks, fellas  :)

I painted the image on top with India inks onto vinyl bumper sticker material and then matte clear-coated it a few times. I used stick-on vinyl lettering similar to what Paul from DGP uses. Since I live in a small apartment  with no outdoor space (and can't afford an art or music studio in this ridiculously overpriced city), I'm trying out a few ways of finishing the pedals that won't be so toxic. I bought some of  the blemished powder-coated enclosures from Small Bear to try out this bumper sticker art idea. This was the first one I finished this way, and I'll definitely be doing it this way again.

I'm stoked to build the second Triton for myself and do some of those cool mods. Again, awesome delay culturejam. I'm going to put my "best" 2399 in this one.

Just built this, and I love it! I didn't do any mods to this one. I have a second one on the bench for experimentation, but I wanted to build one stock first. Thanks to Timko for sharing the drill template.

FWIW, I couldn't get a decent transfer with that yellow stuff either. I've been using Polaroid Premium Photo Paper with a $20 Scotch laminator and so far, that's been the most fool-proof method for me. I haven't etched enclosures yet, but for boards it's working well.

I got some genuine MN3208 and MN3102 chips and popped 'em in. I'm still getting the overly distorted sound, even with proper biasing. I checked the chips first in another working circuit to make sure they were working first (even though I got them from a trusted source). I'll probably probe it and see if I can isolate where it's distorting sometime over the next week or two, maybe I'll find the problem.

I learned a lot from this build, as I always do with these Madbean layouts. Thanks again for the layout, Brian. ;)

What did he do to your vintage dmms?  Did he not swap any opamps?  Thought he did that but. Might be mistaking him for someone else

Both of my DMMs took quite a beating during my gigging days. I just had him return them to perfect working order, and now that I think about it, he did do the impedance mod to the newer one while he was repairing it.

That's a good idea, Scruffie. I'll look into those. I might also be able to get some actual MN3208s from a friend, fingers crossed.

...did you add legs to an SMD NE571?  :o  :D

Hahahaha, I was wondering if anyone would notice that! I took on this project to challenge myself, and yep... It was a great challenge. Believe it or not, that part was pretty easy. The wee legs on that chip took solder very, very easily so it wasn't too bad. Making the little perf daughter boards for the crap BL3208 chips was way worse!

Speaking of, if anyone knows where I could get some legit chips for this (preferably the A version) I would be grateful to know. I'd like to actually be able to use this build.

Did you all lay out the PCB yourselves?  I went to David Rolo's website and only saw a schematic for this.

Nice! I hope it works out.

I was wondering that, too. I would love to build this one.
I know David will do group buys once in a while.

With his permission, I'm trying to do a PCB layout for this that'll fit on one board in a 1590BB.  I haven't had a chance to finish it up, yet.

Love me some so mashing pumpkins. Gish is my fav.

Gish and Lull, OMG... I was lucky enough to get to see SP live when they were supporting Gish. Def one of my top ten bands.
