Hey guys! Just dis my first trial with envirotex and after drying, it shrinks on the edges leaving a rounded edge ! Perhaps i used too little resin?
Here the pic:

Any tip would be great!
Thanks

Isn't that sort of what it's supposed to look like?

Eheeh! I hope not!
Ive seen some builds from other guys here and it seems that everything is covered! In my case is not only the rounded edges, but it shrinked and not much left on the edges... Ahhhhh! I was enjoying the idea! Much wasier than spaying lacquer!

I haven't done my ET testing yet so we'll have to wait for the experts to chime in but from what (I think) I've seen, there's supposed to be some cushioning. Perhaps not this much, though...?  ???

Most of the "top only" Envirotex jobs that I have seen looked just like that  ???

I poured on the sides as well! Well, the lid's sides are not bit but still were covered before drying!
I need the Enviromastersrssssss

Maybe the ET is draining through the screwholes? No surface tension to keep it there?

The holes were closed from the bottom.
i''ve just found a video of a guy coating a chess table. He does several coats, 1 hour a part. one of the reasons is to avoid shrinkage.. Once, during the gelation process, you add more resin to cover the shrinkd area....
Damn it, on the juansolo's tutorial seems so easy.....there are always tricks....ehhehe

A lot of it is practice, Cleggy can judge the amounts now so it flows to the edges and he has to do minimal tidying.

So you're saying he was just not using enough of it?
Anything to this multilayer method?

Did it set on a level surface. This stuff will let you know if it's level or not for sure.
Pedal building is like the opposite of sex.  All the fun stuff happens before you get in the box.

+1 on this.  Also, are you sure it was covered thoroughly before it dried?  I just did my first ET pedal (top and sides) and I had a few spots that wanted to stay dry so I had to keep spreading it over them.

^this, needs to be level and you need to use enough. Cleggy had do do an ultra thin pour on the mini Doppelganger because of the 9mm pots having bugger all thread on them. It has edges a bit like the above in places. He had to tease it all around with the wooden stirrer to get it even.

I did exactly that. Was teasing the edges with a wood stick. After pouring, everything looked perfect. BUT, after 3 hours, i could see alredy the shrinkage going on. I think i will try to pour another layer on the egdes after about 1 hour after 1st coat.
As Juansolo said, its about doing and learning! The prob is that i need to find boxes for the learning process. dont wanna screw up a ready to coat pedal...ehehhe
Cheers guys!

Asked Cleggy when I was over today, "didn't use enough" was his response ;)
