...when I noticed something weird in the supplied gutshots ....

USB port? It's probably a microcontroller programming interface.

I'm actually not quite sure what we're looking for..

are you talking about the unconnected wire, the general ratsnest or the USB?
I build pedals to hide my lousy playing.

Ha ha I've been staring at that pic wondering what's wrong with it too...

The wire indeed.
I guess with certain effects one wire less or one more is not going to be that noticeable :-)

I would assume that's one or maybe two wires not used from a ribbon cable.

You're right, I had not thought about that ..
Darn, now I am again tempted to bid ...

I nearly posted on Droogies Id Tap That build report that he should post to some gear forums "Count to ten proto reveal".

Ive not heard any demos of the CT5, is it worth the hype surrounding it?

I think it's the best pedal ever created, seriously. I needed a month to learn how to use it, and he is adding more functionality every month or two, I regularly download the firmware and put it in to try em out.

Here's a video my friend recorded for it, I was playing here (rather bad but f it) , I even made a controller for the CT5 so I don't have to use my hands nor an exp pedal while playing it. It is a cheap pedal for what it offers, it can do everything you can imagine.
The sounds around 04:50 alone would've justified the purchase for me. It is so much more interesting than the EHX Freeze (that I also have lol)

Heh I was actually watching that demo earlier :-) Have you ever had a peak inside to see what kind of DSP chip it uses?

Cortexturizer

I wasn't interested to be honest, he does say somewhere on his videos that it is some sort of ... ah, I found it

"ct5 is built around a 32-bit arm based mcu from st (stm32f4 series). i never used the fv-1, it looks fun, but from the specs it is pretty weak compared to stm32 or any other high powered mcu on the market right now."

Thanks,
These chips sure offer a lot more horse power but I really don't have the skills to program that.
Well for now I guess I'll keep fiddling with my puny FV-1 then  ... ;-)

100% agree, I use mine all the time. Haven't even updated it yet (which I should).
Mind sharing some info on the controller you built for it?  8)

oh it's nothing much really - https://www.instagram.com/p/BGtLIylqPPH/ (I just can't find a better picture)

it's a TH Custom Pro-cessor with one of the sends foot-mutable so I am actually giving CT5 the ability to have delay tails, and the other two footswitches are just going between a couple of exp settings so I can go from standard delay to reverse to up a fifth (for example) all with the footswitches while playing. It really makes it killer to use with a band.
