If my photos are missing again... they're hosted by photobucket... and as of 06/2017 being held hostage... to be continued?

Can't remember if I've posted this in the thread but I listen to this every month or two. The Cory Henry keyboard solo is, like, pinnacle musicianship. Lit beyond belief. And, that drums!

Toots Hibbert died a week ago. Reggae Got Soul is one of my favourite reggae pieces, one of his, a cool cover including him in the mix.

Love the playing, but WOW do I hate that snare sound.

So, my local public radio station damn near killed me tonight. As I was driving home from the grocery store, they played this track, and there is a moment in it that caused me to laugh out loud, so suddenly and forcefully, that I very nearly went off the road.

I actually had to pull over to let myself calm down and start breathing again. It was fantastic, I've not had a moment like that in months.

Still mining the late sixties, the more things change the more they remain the same.

My gf is a classically trained violin player, so I've been hitting up estate sales, collecting classical records.  While I like classical music (I had season tickets to the KC Symphony at one point), I had very little knowledge about it prior to us starting to date.

Today we hit up an estate sale at 70% off, and I picked up a lot of Charles Ives sonatas. The sonatas for Violin and Piano have been quite nice.

Afonso

This is one of my favorites songs by this band called Distant Dream, which is a solo project by Marcin Majrowski.
He is a very talented musician from Poland. Definetly worth checking it out.

I was expecting it to either be about Otto von Bismarck, or about the warship Bismarck. I wasn't expecting anything amazing (hadn't heard Sabaton before), but I was completely blown away, both by the music, and the production values!

Those early Alice Cooper records are really good. When I bought an old greatest his on vinyl for a few bucks I was pleasantly surprised that it was all consistently good. I had always figured I'm eighteen, and Schools Out were his only great songs. I was wrong.

Really good stuff, you think gimmick band with their schtick but no they were a very legitamite band, i'm sure it helped to have Bob Ezrin in your corner. I've "Love it to Death" & "Billion Dollar Babies" and i'd add more should i stumble across other early ones.

It's possible someone on this thread linked to them before, they just came up in my recommendations.
