I saw Earth when they came to Wellington last year/year before maybe?
Interesting set, and an unappreciative crowd who just wanted to be blasted will walls of noise.

The newer stuff a bit more subtle, eh. Still heavy as fuck though.

"The bees made honey in the lions skull" is prob my favourite  album of theirs
mine also. But it's running a close race with angels of darkness 1

Death - black punk band from Detroit in the 70s

Tool - my favorite band when I was in my late teens. I discovered lots of other music and kind of went away from Tool but I've been listening to them a lot more lately.

I just saw Death last weekend...they were great.

I need the little emoticon of the guy doing the "We're not worthy" bow.

The whole album that's from is on youtube, too.

Nice song Jon, some great vocal harmonies. Not usually what I would go for but sucked me in to the end of the song!

Edit: Ill take this thread title literally and post what im listening to at this moment.  I like doom, still not sure about this band though, might take some time to get used to the tempo.  Slow even for doom if you ask me:

The 90s super group you never knew. Members of this band went on to play with Paul McCartney, Air, and write songs for Disney.

I actually remember them.  They were the opening band when I saw the Black Crows over 20 years ago.

They had a minor hit with Glutton Of Sympathy, IIRC.

This was cool. Plus, drummer lead singer.

I was also listening to these guys earlier this week for a review. Sort of Smiths-style new wave mashed up with riff rock like the Strokes.

Here's my review of the album in The Owl Mag, where I did my best to avoid the exact comparisons I made in the previous paragraph.

One of the first 45's i bought was Mississippi Queen by Mountain, first album i bought with my own money was Black Sabbath's Paranoid. Forty years on Mountain and Ozzy get together to cover Bob Dylan...  skeptical to say the least... pleasantly surprised.

I'm a big fan of The Flatliners, their newest album is not quite as heavy as their past work, but still very solid.

Edit: reminds me a bit of SAMIAM Matt, might have to give it a listen, good stuff.

In an attempt to offend my friends on madbean further with more distasteful music I offer you this:

Oh, and earlier, Analog Pussy. Great trance techno, but worth finding their tracks just for the name hahaha!
