Has anyone come up with a way to socket an FV-1 on to a board that has SMD pads like the Headtrip?

The only socket type thing I see for SOIC chips are those expensive giant testers like from adafruit. nope.

However, I do see some SOJ sockets, but, those require the bent under type pins. Anybody tried something like this?

You can see it a little better in this 40-pin version

Are gull wing sockets a thing? That's where I'd start, but I'm really not sure.

They are, but I dont think the SOIC type pins will fit the holes like DIP pins. Also, maybe I missed it but Im not sure they make those in the 1.27mm pitch for SOIC

Can the FV-1 pins be bent? Will they fit in a header like this, or are they too short?

1.27mm Right-angle Female header
Pitch: 1.27mm (.050″) inch pitch

The only thing I can think of is solving it or a daughter board and using headers on that. I think pedal pcb used to sell something like this for an fv1

I missed something.  Why do we need a socket again?

Because the fv1 is $18+ and money does not grow on trees  ;D

Those are thru hole DIP adapters which are much bigger. Most of the fv1 projects like the MB Headtrip and PedalPCB Arachnid are setup for smd pads on the board so it wouldn't really work with those
