OK, got it etched and built. I have a signal on pin 3 of the TL082. I should have something out of pin 2 heading to gain, but I don't.
arrrrrrrrgh please help. Wh am i missing?

It's normal not to hear output from the inverted pin (pin2). But you should hear output at pin1. If not, then something is wrong with the IC, soldering or the board etching most likely. Also, you'll want to check for proper voltages.

OK, thats what I thought as the datasheet shows pin 1 as the output. I'll post the voltages later today.
One question about the voltages - how do I calculate what they should be? Is that simply Ohm's Law or is it something else?

~9v on pin8
0v on pin4
~4.5v on everything else, although you may have a lower reading on pin3

Well, nuthin' doing. It won't work. I did find a tiny, teeny weeny piece of copper that caused a short to ground, but I still got nothing after fixing that. And between all the desoldering and scraping I totally macked up the board. So... I'm going to try again. Maybe this time I'll use the schematic to design my own version... I'll call it SuperEgo
. Now all we need is a pedal called Id!
