Is there a purpose for the TL072 for the RC version? On the pdf it calls for that chip for rc and "any dual op amp" for the ac version. I used the LM4562 for the AC but it doesn't sound quite right on the RC. Haven't tried the 072 in the RC yet.. Just wondering if it NEEDS it for some reason?

The RC is cleaner than the AC. The TL072 is more of a "hi-fi" type chip so it may work better. The AC booster is a dirtbox so a little less hi-fi and more warmth and depth is probably better. That being said, opinions vary on what sounds best in a particular pedal. Just try them until you like one. The OPA2134 and NE5532 are both hi-fi chips. The RC4559P may be a good chip to try also.

based on the datasheet, the lm4562 looks like a really good opamp, roughly as good as the opa2134 even. it's significantly better than the tl072.

I like them in most cases. I have one of the metal can versions I can't get to work, trying to get it replaced. Mofo like 20 bucks.

Wow good info. I didn't know about the LM4562.
