can anyone compare the Barber style eq (like in madbean's new sparkplug) to the active baxandall type, like what's used in the Xotic pedals?  The baxandall is pretty neutral which I like, and I'm wondering if Barber's is more amp-like, or more OD-pedal-like or what?

madbean

The Baxandall has both cut and boost and the Barber (or Sparkplug) is boost only for mid and bass and cut only for the treble. So, that's a big difference there, I guess. Amp-like could mean a lot things...were you thinking of anything more specific?

Yeah I guess what I'm wondering is if the barber adds its own curve to the existing sound in the way an amp tone stack would or if things are pretty flat at minimum.
