Audio/Video Demos / Re: Honeydripper

Now I'm going to have to build one of these. Sounds like pure fun.

With an octaver, I'll bet it would sound straight up clown evil.

Thank you much good sir.

Sorry if this is too obvious, but is it necessary to connect the ground/shield to a ground point?

What's wrong with Tayda?

Price is good.

Do they not ship to the EU?

Lovely.

What guitar/pick-up type and amp did you use?

Love me some glops.

Your boxes on diy-stomp are some of my faves.

I've had good experiences with Polida. Given the prices are reasonable, I've expected that 1 out of 4 chips will be bunk.

Their 3007 and metal can LM308 prices are great.

Open Discussion / Re: Your favorite solo

No offense meant here.  8)

But a solo isn't a gift for her. It's a chance for you to show off.

It is her gift to you, then that's cool.

But if it is not: serenade her with a love song on the acoustic guitar, and save the shredding for later.

Enjoy the day.

If the order isn't placed, I'm in for 1.

General Questions / Dirtbag Circuit Question
June 29, 2012, 03:56:41 PM
I've completed an MN3005 Dirtbag and it is wonderful. (I'll do a build report when I get knobs.) The only problem is that the circuit is super easy to clip--which I understand is a 'feature' of the original DMM.

I have to lower the level of the effect and preceding drives to well below unity to avoid the clipping diode being constantly red. It does create an audible difference, I'm not just listening with my eyes.  ;D

The question I have, because I'm largely illiterate when it comes to complicated schematics:

Is the clipping indicator actually part of the audio circuit? Or does it merely indicate that clipping is occurring?

If it is part of the audio circuit, would using a more robust LED than a 5mm red diffused make any difference?

Thanks to anyone with knowledge.

Is this possible? Would it involve jumpering the two throws together?

Looks good!

What substitutions to the stock build did you make?
