Build Reports / Green Bean
April 16, 2012, 12:27:47 AM
Haven't posted any builds in a while. Here is my newly completed Green Bean. I socketed some caps and all of the diodes so I can experiment a little. I used this on a gig Friday night and it sounded great. Next up is a Hotcake and a Lunar Module. Here are some pics.

Tech Help - Projects Page / Dirt Bag V3205 Question
December 20, 2011, 02:56:09 AM
So I have my Dirt Bag (V3205 version) built. Everything works except there is no delay. Bypass is fine. Effect engaged = leds working and signal passing however no delay. The level knob works. What's the most likely culprit?

Tech Help - Projects Page / Compressor Problem
November 16, 2011, 03:12:07 PM
I have a Ross compressor that I built using a tonepad board that up until recently has been working fine. The other day when I went to play it was not working properly. Signal is still getting through but sound is splatty and inconsistent. Anyone know what could cause this. Bad transistor? Bad chip? Any help would be appreciated.

Build Reports / Neutrino & Glitteratti
November 01, 2011, 10:40:48 PM
Well I was very impressed and inspired by Bluestrat's Fat Pants build so I had to build a couple of pedals. Sorry Bluestrat for blatantly using your idea but I loved it. Here is a Neutrino and Glitteratti. The enclosures are the bare 125BB enclosures from smallbear. The washers are from Lowes. I am still debating on whether or not I should etch the enclosures. I love these pedals.

Hey guys I just built up the following project and can not totally figure out how to wire it up.
How would you apply the following wiring guide

http://www.madbeanpedals.com/tutorials/downloads/StandardWiring_MBP.pdf

to this project? Everything is pretty self explanatory except for the volume pot and blend pot.

http://www.sabrotone.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/TubeScreamerDerivative.gif

I have it wired up and am getting bypass signal and effect signal, however, there is no overdrive on the effected signal. The tone pot seems to be having minimal impact. The drive pot is having no impact. The volume pot seems to be working properly. Can't really tell if the blend pot is working or not since there is no overdrive. Any help would be appreciated.

Build Reports / Boneyard

Here are pics of my Boneyard build. I initially did not care for it too much. I changed the led clippers to silicon diode clippers and I like it much better.

Not a question, just wanted to let you guys know of another source for MN3101 and MN3007 chips. HB Electronics in Monterey Park CA. The MN3007 was 7.56 and the MN3101 was 2.25. Shipping & Handling was 6.98 for a total of 16.79. I ordered them online on Wednesday and they showed up on Friday.

Open Discussion / Rockin Ted
April 24, 2011, 10:42:09 PM
Hey guys, the guitar player and drummer that I play with have started a new venture and they just released a new app for iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. It is called Rockin Ted and features an 80's hair band metal dude named Ted. It is a really cool little app and they are excited about it. I told them I would share with the guitar communities I hang out in. Below is a message they sent out regarding the launch.

Hello everyone,
We are very excited to announce Rockin Ted is now available on the App store! We finally did it!

This just happened a few hours ago, so you can literally be one of the first to download Rockin Ted on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

Tech Help - Projects Page / Road Rage Question
April 13, 2011, 05:14:05 PM
So I am building my bass player an effects box. He is tired of the guitar players having all the fun so he wants to get in on the game. It is going to be three effects in one enclosure. It will be a compressor into a Faultline into a Pork Barrel. I want to use a Road Rage to up the juice for the Faultline. I am comfortable wiring up all three without the Road Rage, I just need a little help with how to incorporate it for the Faultline only. Any help would be appreciated.

I built one of these to add some middy thickness to my strat lead tone. It certainly does that but I would like to add just a touch of high end sparkle while maintaining the thick mids. Anyone know of a mod to achieve this?

Just finished the Pork Barrel. Great sounding chorus. I chose not to do the mods, just wanted a simple straight forward chorus and this fills the bill.

Three new pedal builds to fill my modulation needs, Echobase Delay, Ross Phaser, and Tap Tempo Tremolo. All three highly recommended.

Here is my completed Glitterrattii. Enclosure is vintage orange sparkle from Mammoth. I bought this one predrilled. Pedal sounds great. I will be keeping this one for me.

Brian or anyone else for that matter I inadvertantly ordered the wrong value for the 33n caps for these builds. Do you know how significant they are to these circuits? Could I get by with 22n or 47n or is 33n critical for these pedals?
