Netnnk is going through his original pedal and I am drawing up a schematic of the OEM pedal with ref designaters and part numbers that match the BOSS ones so there will be a correct full schematic online soonish.

The Boss service manual is available.

From Boss or just floating around?  I tried searching quite a bit.

Correct and Verified Boss FZ-2 schematic.  I have this working using basically jellybeans too.

"Jellybean" is slang for "any cheap transistor you have at hand", so things like the 2N3904, 2N5088, 2N2222, etc etc etc

yup!

What I have it working with
Q1,Q2.Q11: 2n3904
Q3,Q4,Q8: J113
Q5,Q6: 2n5088
Q12,Q13,Q14: 2n3903
Q7,Q9,Q10: 2n5485
Q15: 2n3906
IC1, IC2: 4558

I honestly used things I had around and didn't order anything special.

Q9, Q10, Q15 can be sensitive.

Q1,Q2,Q5,Q6,Q11,Q12,Q13,Q14: 2n3904 or whatever would probably work fine for all them.

Mind your wiring or it will oscillate wildly.

If anyone's interested, I did a PCB for the complete FZ-2 circuit (including discrete pseudo-opamp boost) based on imjonwain's schematic -
