I think it would be cool to do one of the old versions of this.

+1!
looks like a very hard project to layout :)

The original OTA chips it uses (CA3094/EH1048) are probably as hard to find as MN3005s and it uses a lot of them, it'd need converting to LM13700s first, I think this is one of the better to buy than build pedals.

its been done on one of the other forums.

Oh yeah, there is a PCB layout isn't there.

Still, I wouldn't make it a fabbed bean project, at least in its current state.

This falls in the 'only the true DIY geek would even think about it."

Truthfully, for the size of the enclosure, number of controls, complexity of build and rarity of parts, it's just not quite worth it. I've had a Micro Synth, and I think the newer version can be had for under 200 used. It's a cool pedal if you're into those sorts of sounds.

lets be frank its a fantastic effect but the demand for a project is no way worth the effort put into making it happen.

Likewise for other more complex effects, such as my beloved Lovetones. Most people happy with a simple phaser tremolo or flanger and thats just fine. Still, sucks if you are one of the minority that wants to see doable projects for these more esoteric / rare effects

fuuuuuu :)

Slightly O/T: If I run into a brick wall any chance youd be interested in helping me with my Doppelganger? You are in the UK, so I could in theory ship it to you...

is there a definitive schematic of the Micro Synth?

jkokura

From what I looked for Austin, I couldn't find one.

I've got the original factory one and the re-issue factory one, not the re-re-issue though.

I wasn't able to find a definitive schematic, either.

Perhaps everybody is right and this is one just worth purchasing.  Looked like fun, though.

When I said I had factory ones, I meant schematics, I have the proper ones.

This one is worth purchasing, but perhaps some form of simplified workalike could be fun.
