General Questions / L7812 to power FCV100?
February 22, 2013, 10:46:55 PM
OK, I use a Behringer FCV100 volume pedal. I would like to power it with an adapter instead of batteries. For some reason, it will run on a 9v battery but needs a 12v power supply.
So my noobish question is: can I make a charge pump using a L7812 and power it with a regular 9v power supply?
Looking at the data sheet for the L7812 (http://www.taydaelectronics.com/datasheets/A-207.pdf, fig. 4 application), I think I take 9v in with a .33uF cap to ground in parallel with the input and a .1uf cap to ground with the output and then get 12v out. Am I understanding this correctly?

Thanks,
Chad

Is the regulator for the road rage available at Mouser? I think I have most components figured out, but I am new to this component.

I feel little guilty for asking this, but any chance of posting the pcb artwork for etching the Dinky Drive?

Tech Help - Projects Page / Shottky or Ge diodes?
June 27, 2010, 07:56:28 PM
Hello, I am trying to get the parts together to build a compressor sustainer I found over at FSB. It indicates a Ge diode or a Shottky. I am unsure what to get. I believe that it is part of a clipping block. Would a a 1N34A Ge diode work? I also see a lot of different Shottky's listed. If I went for one of these, which one?
Thanks.

Requests / Footswitch PCB
April 23, 2010, 03:16:58 PM
I was looking through some of the BYOC instructions and I noticed that they were using a small PCB for wiring/attaching a 3pdt footswitch (I found in in their tremolo instructions). Seems like something like this might make wiring the switch a lot easier. Any thoughts on making something similar?

General Questions / Pot schem labels
April 16, 2010, 09:50:13 PM
A noob question:
I am looking at building a few pedals and understand most of the markings on the schematics. I want to clarify how pots are labeled. Am I right that a 'B' such as, 10kB, is a linear pot? Then a pot with an 'A' is an audio taper?
What does the 'C' designation mean, such as a 10kC?

Thanks.
