Hey Jon!  Oh yeah, hey that'd be awesome... thank-you!
PM Incoming :)

No problem.  I'll send you the files in a sec.  Keep in mind the 3pdt location on my graphic might conflict with the Total Recall PCB.  I think Brian is working on a new/compact layout though so that would probably work fine.  The one I built used althe old school Dirtbag PCB!

Wow! That looks great! Did you recreate the type manually? I didn't think that it was an available typeface.

Yeah, it was a major pain in the butt. 😂

I've been in a lull for the last 9 months it so.  I did finish a Partscaster (tele) last fall that I should post on here.  I also have several half built pedals and an amp in the works but I can't find the time/energy to finish them.  On top of that, we just put an offer in on a home so I'm most likely going to be working on DIY projects of another kind for the foreseeable future.

Here's my 2008 SG Classic w/ chunky neck:

My workbench has been covered in cobwebs for the past year and a half.  I'd take a picture, but I'm too damn tired to go out there!  😂

I know this will be an unpopular thing to say, but Tayda carries a lot of 9mm lots now and the few I've gotten from them have been fine.

I think the reality of this is that there is demand for a lot of this stuff and a couple of places will probably step up and attempt to fill the gaps created. There is a demand and I'm sure it will be filled. I'll be sad to not have smallbear, but my solder will continue to flow.

The only question is, how much wire to stockpile before he closes for good.

I expect I am the outlier, but in my case, Tayda carries the wrong 9mm pots.  They carry the PC mount right angle version and I prefer the typical PC mount, which is more difficult to find.

CE distribution (distribution arm of amplified parts/antique electronic supply) sells the straight pin 9mm Alphas. I'm guessing they don't carry half the values that Steve does but it might be an option worth checking out.

Man, what bittersweet news.  I'm very sad for the DIY community but happy for Steve.  It will definitely be interesting to see how this unfolds.

Why are these pads soldered?

If you have a multimeter with a continuity tester, you can check for broken connections by touching one probe to part where pad is lifted and other probe to leg of part that it should be electrically connected to according to schematic or PCB traces.  If the parts are connected as they should be, the meter will make a continuous sound. Also, did you rock it before you boxed it (i.e. test PCB before putting it in an enclosure)?  It's possible the mistake has to do with the wiring or something is shorting out on the enclosure.

My wife and I had Moderna #2 yesterday.  I had a mild headache and arm pain after about two hours and thought I was mostly in the clear. Woke up at 3AM with terrible head and body aches, fever, chills, nausea, and dizziness. My wife is now dealing with body aches and dizziness but she's doing better that I am overall. Hopefully we start feeling better by tomorrow.

There's so many pedals I managed to troubleshoot with a multimeter that gives you a noise when you have continuity, an audio probe and a delay pedal that can also loop a riff, so you can trace your signal through the circuit.

This!  Definitely make sure your DMM has a continuity setting.

I'm going to try to watch it this weekend. Last weekend I watched the new Dave Grohl doc What Drives Us and really enjoyed that.
