Mods / Re: Any Dyna Comp Mods?
September 02, 2011, 11:24:47 AM
It depends what version dyna comp you have.  The newest revision is pretty different than the original (I have one and decided to build a vintage ross clone instead of modding it).  But you should be able to find some stuff online that will apply to it.

General Questions / Re: Pork Barrell Component query
August 01, 2011, 11:26:56 AM
They have always emailed me back within 2 days, it usually takes about 3/4 of a day I think because of the time difference.  I know that they have several contact email addresses depending on what you need from them.  Maybe check again who you sent it to and re-send it to customer service or order inquiry. I forget what they call it exactly...

My experience with futurlec is that if you are waiting a month it is because they don't have a part or parts you ordered in stock.  They are pretty good if you email them, but they never take the first step to tell you that they won't be able to ship until their stock comes in.  Sometimes you can change the part to something similar and get it shipped right out.

Build Reports / Re: Lonestar amp switch
July 07, 2011, 04:09:21 PM
Thanks for the infos, I kinda figured it probably would not work they way I hoped.  It's no big deal to have the normal LED scheme.  I usually have the two channels set so different you don't really need an LED anyways to know which is active.  Now I don't have to waste time trying something that wont work.

That looks great!  I have the same amp, I am planning on doing up a switch in a 125B with a second jack and third switch to control the reverb too.  The only different thing I was considering doing was replacing the red channel LED with a red/green dual LED.  So that on the clean channel the switch LED would match the amp panel LED.  I'm not sure if current flows down that line to light the LED in that state of switching, so I guess I will just have to do some good old trial and error.

I think it would be cool to have that option.  I was thinking about doing something like that on perf in the range of 36-48 volts for pedals that use amp topology with fets instead of tube triodes.  I thought it might give some good headroom and dynamics.

OK thanks so much!  Sorry to hear you had some problems with the prototype.  Juansolo mentioned in the OP and I've also heard a few guys on BYOC say that the original layout has some errors.  That's why I stayed away from building this at first.  So if the schemo looks correct maybe looking at the thread on BYOC will help a little.  Good luck!

Hey Brian,

I know you've been super busy lately.  I was wondering if there was any progress on this project?  Even an official BOM for your board would be awesome.  I'm waiting on placing a small bear order for whatever I need but don't have for a dipthonizer and a forumvibe.

Thanks!

Dan

General Questions / Re: Sunking a/b with klon

I got the same ones from futurlec.  They are NOT 1n34a, here is a thread at BYOC talking about it http://www.buildyourownclone.com/board/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=29809

They are shottky diodes, with about .31 forward voltage.

That being said, if you like them then great go with it.  I now have 100 of them so I hope I like them too...

Awesome, thanks madbean!  So it looks like you will need a separate road rage board to go along with this board right?

Wow that is really impressive!
