I've been talking with some dudes on the Gilmour forum and they like to place the Mistress in a parallel blender. On the MB Current Lover, how would you achieve a dry kill option? I remember Scruffie talking about the 60/40 blend that is crucial to the Mistress sound. Was it set by a resister value?

Hi folks, just curious if any of you know whether or not Steve has employees that are handling the emails at Smallbear, or does he do this himself? I'm not terribly upset at the moment as I know mistakes happen from time to time (this thread is not an angry rant), I'm just trying to determine what the next step would be to have a shipping error resolved is... as it's dragging on a bit. I'm not sure whether I've been communicating with Steve or an employee. Thoughts?

Just picked up a Boss Super Overdrive SD-1 for like $20. I kinda dig it! Are there currently any projects for the SD-1 kicking around? Is Aion's Tube Screamer board a possible candidate? The SD-1 sounds like a warmer version of the Cornish SS-2/Duplex Drive with less bass.

You guys ever try this thing? I just got the mid 80s "black box" version in a trade and it sounds spectacular. I've dialed it in to my usual Mistress settings and almost prefer it over the Current Lover. Haven't look under the hood but I think these had the SAD1024 chip... what a great chip for flanging. Is the Ross another MXR clone or is it something original?

Has anyone looked under the hood of the Boss MZ-2 Digital Metalizer? Any idea if the distortion circuit is an adapted version of an older Boss classic or unique to the pedal? I found one local for cheap and thought it may be worth a look. Here is a clip from Kitrae with just the distortion into a Fender Twin:

I know these power supplies just came out rather recently... I've started to wonder if the 24v center positive daisy chain output could power a Total Recall safely? It's rated at 1000mA fyi.

Just thinking out loud, but considering the original w/SAD1024 had two delay lines (I think that's what they're called) in parallel... could a stereo (dual mono) Mistress be built using the MN3007 Current Lover? Can the controls be ganged? I just finished setting up a stereo rig and started to wonder what a stereo flanger would sound like.

Sourcing parts at the moment. If I were to use a 1megC pot* for the sustain control... would it provide more action at max compression or low compression? I can never remember how the tapers work.

Also, does anyone have a Boss CS-2 parts list? I'm trying to get that classic Boss vibe out of the Aurora (sans BA662).

Has anyone had a chance to compare the old Current Lover with the new 2015 revision? I'm currently doing a shootout with a friends 2015 vs two of the previous iterations (MN3007 @12v). I am finding that the 2015 version does not take dirt pedals and muffs very well. Could this possibly be due to the new opamp output stage? Is it possible to build the 2015 without the opamp output gain stage? Food for thought...

Just curious if any has tried mosfets as diodes in a big muff build? Worth exploring? Also a link to Coda Effects who has retrieved the old "big muff mods and tweaks" page that has passed on into the great archive in the sky.

Did anybody here ever build "The Gilmour" mistress? If so, what is the difference between it and the Current Lover 2015?

Looks like we lost the recent thread listing the different types of germanium diodes peeps have used successfully in their Darkside "geetoos" and assorted build alikes. I have a Duplex Drive on the way from Justin (electricb) and am curious which diodes to use for the best tone.

Just wondering if anyone knows for sure that the Boss DD2 was a PT2399 based delay? Also curious if anyone has ever made a pcb project out of it?
