Ohhh that’s awesome. It’d be great to see more options become available in time.

Build Reports / Re: Couple builds - Super Trouper and Lilliput

Nice! The screen print is awesome. I’ve been eyeing that Lilliput board since it was announced. I need to get on it.

What did you end up using for bias points on the super trouper?

Nice one! Take a look at the Tourbus doc to see how the peak/overload circuit works!

Nice one! The Total Recall is a great project, and this is great execution. Glad to hear it's dialed in so well.

General Questions / Re: Wavelord 1P8T Switch
« on: August 16, 2022, 03:16:51 PM »
Hello, has anyone found a source of the free rotating 1P8T switches other than Smallbear? I had some in my drawer but they stop at 8, I grabbed one from Tayda and same deal. Just if anyone knew of anywhere (UK might be a stretch but maybe Europe) to save me a Smallbear order.

The ones sold by adafruit (and with the adafruit name on mouser) don’t have the stop. Not sure if that helps you though.

Very cool! It looks great put together. What’s going on with the off-board resistor?

Keep in mind that lost checked luggage is a bit out of control at the moment. Definitely document anything you’ll be checking so, if things do indeed get lost, you’ll have everything you need to follow up with insurance.

General Questions / Re: LM78L05 at 18V
« on: August 06, 2022, 09:59:57 PM »
The TI data sheet has an LM78L05 section with characteristics for test conditions of 7-20V. The Vin_max figure does seem to apply to all LM78L## devices. Current and heat may be concerns, but 18v in should be fine. You could always put a divider or other step down before the input.

Did you test them in-circuit, or are you assuming they’re fake based on appearance?

How’re you determining they’re fakes?

Thanks, Grant.  Brian's peace sign came off when I cleaned the board  ;D
Same thing happened to me too, haha.

Brian, are you planning on releasing an updated library since you reworked many part footprints? I’m particularly interested in the off-board components too (the clearance indicators are really handy!).

Nice work! The wiring definitely looks like thought and planning went into it.

This may be one for the breadboard. I really like the Rat, but I think your characterization is correct. So, rather than sweeping the entirety of the gain gamut, this stops short of fuzz territory and gives more nuance within the distortion range? Interesting work with the EQ. Do you find this active shelving filter more useful than the more extreme shaping of the Rat's gain stage HPFs?
